About Varrow

A Toronto studio teaching self-defense and calm-communication courses, operating as Toronto Jiujitsu Club Inc.

A3About

A3.1

Who we are

Varrow opened its studio near Oakley Boulevard, Toronto, ON M1P 3P4, operating as Toronto Jiujitsu Club Inc., with a simple aim: give people in Toronto a steady, unhurried way to build self-defense skill without the pressure of a gym built around competition.

What started as a single weekly fundamentals class has grown into three distinct courses, each aimed at a different starting point — from a staff team spending half a day on calm communication to a student working through a six-month programme.

The studio stays small on purpose. Group sizes are capped so an instructor can actually watch how each person moves, rather than running a class by headcount alone.

A3.5

How we work

Three habits run through every course we teach.

Approach

Build the same movements slowly enough that they stay calm under pressure, rather than rushing toward a belt or certificate.

Consistency

Every class follows the written course plan so the pace stays fair across the whole group.

Communication

Short check-ins along the way, so pace and difficulty match how each student is actually progressing.

Send a message and we will match you to the right course and the next available intake.
