Where we train

Classes run from our studio near Oakley Boulevard in Toronto, with easy access from the surrounding neighbourhoods of Scarborough and the wider Greater Toronto Area. The retail and hospitality workshop also travels to a client's own site when a team prefers to train where they work.

Street parking and nearby transit make it straightforward to reach an evening class after work.

A studio built on steady repetition

Varrow is a Toronto training studio run under Toronto Jiujitsu Club Inc., built around the idea that confidence comes from practising the same sound movements until they are unremarkable.

A3About

A3.1

Who this suits

Four situations we see most often among the people who come to Varrow.

New to training

People who have never done a martial art and want a gentle, unhurried start among others doing the same.

Returning adults

Adults coming back to movement after a break, looking for a steady pace rather than a demanding one.

Front-of-house teams

Retail and hospitality staff who want practical language and posture for difficult customer moments.

Long-term students

People who enjoy the slower build of a season-long or multi-month programme.

A3.2

What a course does not cover

Being clear about scope matters as much as describing what we do teach.

  • — No competition fighting preparation or ranking ladder.
  • — No individual counselling or crisis response service.
  • — No equipment sales beyond the loaner gear listed in a course.

Frequent questions

A handful of the questions we hear most. The full list is on the FAQ page.

Do I need any experience to start?

No. Forge Fundamentals is built for complete beginners, and the pace is set by the group rather than by a fixed syllabus clock.

Is the retail workshop physical?

No — it is a half-day of communication and posture work with no contact drills, suited to staff who prefer to stay off the mat.

What happens if I miss a session?

Let us know ahead of time where possible; our booking terms set out how missed sessions and rescheduling work.

Can I pause the Tempered Program?

Short pauses can usually be arranged — reach out and we will talk through what fits your situation.
